    Christoffel Probatski began using the name Probasco in some of his records in New York, and the family continued using the Probasco name.

    I believe he was dead by 1727 when Christoffel (his grandson) and Sara (Ammerman) Probasco named their first born son, Christoffel, out of sequence to honor his great-grandfather.
