Obit Mrs. Christiana Hatfield wife of Owen Hatfield died Monday morning at the home of her stepson, Amos Hatfield, near the city on the Huntington road. Mrs. Hatfield had been in frail health for some time but she had not been under the care of a physician and Coroner Stults was called. He pronounced death to be due to exhaustion.

Mrs. Hatfield whose maiden name was Ray (sic) was 82 years of age. Shewas born in Fayette Co., Indiana Aug 27, 1821 and she was a resident of Whitley county for 54 years. Mrs. Hatfield was twice married. Her first husband was Mr. Gillam who died 30 years ago. Several years later she was married to Mr. Hatfield. The couple had resided with Amos Hatfield for over a year. The decedent is survived by her husband and these children: Solomon M. Gillam, Mrs. Elizabeth Close, Mrs. Amanda Aker, Mrs Phoebe Knappen, Mrs. Minerva Little, Daniel R. Gillam, Mrs. Alice Rice and John N. Gillam and a stephson, Amos Hatfield. There are also 21 grandhcildren and seven great grandchildren. (indecipherable) morning at 10 o'clock at the Hatfield home and at 1 p.m. at Jefferson chapel, Whitley county.
