According to "Pfeiffer Family of Pensacola", Christian operated bakeries in Mobile, Bay Minette and Milton. For many years, he operated a bakery on 9th Ave. between Gregory and Wright St. in Pensacola.
In the 1900 US Federal Census, Christian was a baker. He owned his home at 212 E Government St. His mother-in-law, Martha Wigand was living in the household. George Pfeiffer his 2d cousin, was living next door.
In the 1910 US Federal Census, "CJ" owned his home at 816 La Rua. He was a baker.
In the 1920 US Federal Census, "Christine" was counted in Louise Pfeiffer's household as well as in his own. In Louise' his occupation was owner of a bakery. In his own household, "Chris" was a baker.
In the 1930 US Federal Census, Chris was a baker but was not working under "unemployment schedule" 21. His home was valued at $3500. The household had no radio.
In the 1935 Florida State Census "Christina Pfeiffer" was the owner of a bakery. Degree of education was through the 8th grade. The household included Florence, Edgar, Dudley and Martha Wigand.
In the 1945 Florida State Census, "Mr CJ Pfeiffer" was retired, living alone with "Mrs CJ Pfeiffer" at 816 La Rua. They were both recorded as having a "grammer" level education.
