BIOGRAPHY: "The station in Abbotsford was sold to Chester Knight in June 1963. Mr. Knight sold the station to Ron Karsten in 1972."

Chet Knight, operator of the Thompson Oil Co., for many years was born in Owen on February 21, 1908. After finishing high school at Owen, he found work in the woods, at the Jump River logging camp.

Later he became a milk hauler, which he followed for 8 years; four for the Owen condensery, and four for the While House Milk Co. He then found emplyment with the Thomson Oil Company, a position which he held for 17 years. On April 1, 1953, he leased the Thompson Oil Co., which is now operated by Ron Karsten.

He married Anna Raasch of Stetsonville, and they had three children; Gordon, Douglas and Corrine.

Several years ago, Chet purchased the Henry Necker place, and it is now known as the Circle K ranch. This land is situated just east of the city limits.
