Listed as Lottie in the 1900 U.S. Census
Lottie was never married, although she was engaged once. Her mother broke off her engagement as well as Frederick's. Cora Paulyne Saunders Leopold blamed their mother, Louisa, for breaking up the engagements because they were her source of income after her husband, Albert, died.
After Lottie retired from being a telephone operator at age 60, she took up boating, dancing, skating, and would walk everywhere.
