    In Andersonville Prison, Georgia, Oct. 31st, 1864, of scurvy, Mr. Charles H. Witter, son of Edwin P. and Mary Ann Witter, of Nile, Allegany Co., N. Y., aged 35 years and 6 months. He was taken prisoner at Plymouth, having served in the 85th N. Y. S. V. about two years. He professed religion several years ago, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Nile, and continued a faithful, living member, till his death. He leaves a wife and five young children to lament his loss. N. W.
