Obituary:

Chales E. Streeter

Charles Edgar "Ted" Streeter, a King City resident, died Wednesday in a Portland hospital of injuries sustained in a Dec. 6 auto accident in Tigard.

At his request, there will be no funeral. His ashes will be scattered along the Columbia River Scenic Highway.

Streeter, who was 87, was born Jan. 8, 1901, in Lincoln, Neb. He served as a bugler in the U.S. Navy during World War I, then worked as an engineer for Western Co., a telephone manufacturing business, in Omaha and Chicago for 38 years before retiring in 1962.

Mr. Streeter then moved tom Ashland, where he lived for three years before moving to King City. He was active in photography circles and founded the King City Camera Club with his wife Ada, who is now deceased.

He was a member of the King City Lions Club, Tigard Masonic Lodge and the Tigard American Legion Post.

Survivors include his daughters, Marie Kuffel of Missoula, Mont., and Mildred Roberts of Creswell; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to Friends of the Columbia Gorge.
