3. Charles died on a Friday at 3:30 AM in his little house in Palm Springs. Fred and Hazel were there and had been for the week before. Hazel said she had been sitting in the adjoining room with the door open, probably dozing on and off. She and Fred had been taking turns. At some point she just noted that he semed to have stopped breathing so audibly and found that he was gone.
