Charles Seidl, 72, Luxemburg, died Monday night in a Green Bay hospital after an illness of six weeks. He was born in the town of Luxemburg to the late Jacob and Anna (Kollross) Seidl. In 1904, he became a rural mail carrier, from which position he retired in 1939. He had also been employed as a cheese make at Luxemburg, Angelica and Sherry. A former athlete, he had served as umpire of the Sherry and Lake Shore baseball leagues. He was also known as a musician and had played in the Old Stahl Band and the village band. Mr Seidl was a member of the St Joseph Society. He had also served as village trustee for 10 years. The body is at the McMahon Funeral Home where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. this evening and Wednesday with Msgr. John Huhn offering the requiem mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Louise, a son Fritz of Luxemburg; three Grandchildren, Marjorie, Marilyn, and Mark Seidl. Two brothers, Joe and George Seidl of Luxemburg, a sister, Mary of New London.
