--- Colonel Charles SCARBURGH1,1 was born in 1643 in Accomack County, Virginia.

He died in 1702 in Accomack County, Virginia.  He had an estate probated

on OCT 6 1702 in Accomack County, Virginia. Charles graduated from Caius College, Cambridge, England in 1664 and, in 1701, was living in Pungoteague, Accomack county, Virginia. Charles's will was probated October 6, 1702 in Accomack county, Virginia. Most of the heirs of Colonel Charles Scarburgh and his wife Elizabeth Bennett were named in a deed of October 2, 1721 conveying all rights to "Bennett's Adventure" to George Dashiell of Somerset County (Somerset Co, MD, Deed Bk. IK, p. 192). See Adventurers of Purse and Person, p. 546.

Colonel Charles SCARBURGH was married to Katherine WEST about 1655 in Northampton County, Virginia. Note, his date for marriage to Katherine WEST would have been when he was 12 years old ?

Colonel Charles SCARBURGH was married to Anne WEST about 1665. Anne WEST was born about 1643 in Shadwell, Virginia.

Colonel Charles SCARBURGH was married to Elizabeth BENNETT about 1670 in Accomack County, Virginia. Elizabeth BENNETT was born about 1645 in Nansemound County, Virginia. She died in 1719 in Accomack County, Virginia. She had an estate probated on AUG 4 1719. She was buried in Scarburgh Graves, Evans Wharf, Accomack county, Virginia. Colonel Charles SCARBURGH and Elizabeth BENNETT had the following children:

I. Elizabeth SCARBURGH was born about 1671 in Accomack County, Virginia. She died before 1701.

Elizabeth SCARBURGH was married to Capt. Richard DRUMMOND about 1688.

Richard was living 1719 in Hunting Creek, Accomack county, Virginia.
 Capt. Richard DRUMMOND was born about 1670 in Accomack County, Virginia.

He died in 1720. He had an estate probated on MAY 3 1720.

II. Bennett SCARBURGH was born about 1673 in Accomack County, Virginia. He died in 1734.

Bennett SCARBURGH 2 was married to Elizabeth (_____) about 1690. Elizabeth (_____) was born about 1670.

Bennett SCARBURGH was married to UNKNOWN about 1695.

Bennett SCARBURGH was married to Temperance HOPE before 1722. Temperance HOPE was born about 1678 in Accomack County, Virginia. She died in 1738 in Accomack County, Virginia.

III. Ann SCARBURGH was born in 1675 in Accomack County, Virginia. She died before 1719.

Ann SCARBURGH was married to Major George PARKER before 1701. Major George PARKER was born after 1651/52 in Onancock, Accomack county, Virginia. He died in 1724.

IV. Capt. Charles SCARBURGH was born about 1677 in Accomack County, Virginia. He died in 1725.

Capt. Charles SCARBURGH was married to Edith BAYLY about 1700. Edith BAYLY was born about 1682. Capt. Charles SCARBURGH and Edith BAYLY had the following children:

A. Charles SCARBURGH Jr. was born about 1700. He died in DEC 1724. He had an estate probated between JAN 8 1725 and 1725 in Accomack County, Virginia.

B. John SCARBURGH was born about 1700. He died in 1743.

John SCARBURGH was married to Tabitha (_____) about 1720. Tabitha (_____) was born about 1700. John SCARBURGH and Tabitha (_____) had the following children:

1. Bradhurst SCARBURGH was born about 1722.

Bradhurst SCARBURGH was married to William DRUMMOND after 1742. William DRUMMOND was born about 1721 in Accomack County, Virginia. He died in 1776.

2. Elizabeth SCARBURGH was born about 1724.

3. Tabitha SCARBURGH was born about 1726.

4. Sarah SCARBURGH was born about 1728.

5. Charles SCARBURGH was born about 1740.

C. Elizabeth SCARBURGH was born about 1702.

V. Col. Henry SCARBURGH was born about 1679. He died in 1735.

Col. Henry SCARBURGH was married to Winifred POWELL about 1699. Winifred POWELL was born about 1670. She died in 1756. Col. Henry SCARBURGH and Winifred POWELL had the following children:

A. Henry SCARBURGH was born about 1700 in Accomack County, Virginia.

VI. Mary SCARBURGH was born about 1681 in Accomack County, Virginia.

Mary SCARBURGH was married to Charles BAYLY after 1700. Charles BAYLY was born about 1680. He died in 1716 in Accomack County, Virginia.

Mary SCARBURGH 2 was married to Edmund BAYLY after 1715. Edmund BAYLY was born about 1675. He died before APR 1718. He had an estate probated on APR 2 1718.

Mary SCARBURGH was married to Edmund LEATHERBURY after 1717. Edmund LEATHERBURY was born about 1675. He died in 1721.

Mary SCARBURGH was married to John MCCLESTER before 1722. John MCCLESTER was born about 1680.

VII. Sarah SCARBURGH was born about 1683 in Accomack County, Virginia. She died before 1728.

Sarah SCARBURGH was married to William BLACK after 1700. William's will was probated March 7, 1737/8 in Accomack county, Virginia. William Black, along with George "Kutler", were named trustees for Hugh Roberts' children in his will of November 3, 1720. Thomas Rose, age 33, left William Black a gold ring in his will of November 2, 1722. On November 1, 1723, William Black witnessed the will of Col. Tully Robinson. In his will, written June 10, 1728, William Black left his whole estate to his wife Margaret, who was also named executrix. Witnesses were Henry Bagwell, Delight Shield, William Nowell, William Haizlup, John Allen, John Bagwell, William Tazewell, Thomas Parramore (Acc Co Wills 1737-1743, p. 7). Evidently his first wife, Sarah Scarburgh, had died and he had remarried.

 William BLACK was born about 1679 in Dumfries, Scotland.  He died in 1738.

VIII. Tabitha SCARBURGH was born about 1685 in Accomack County, Virginia.

Tabitha SCARBURGH was married to John BAGWELL after 1700. John BAGWELL was born about 1680 in Accomack County, Virginia. He died in 1749 in Locustville, Accomack county, Virginia.
