Charles Hucklesby was born in 1880 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of a straw hat sewer named Rebecca Hucklesby, formerly Kempson, and her husband Levi Hucklesby, a hat blocker. Charles appears as a baby in the 1881 census living with his parents and siblings at 15 Langley Place.

Charles died as a young child of just two years old.
