The Colonial Records of North Carolina Vo. II, 1771-1775, page 674: "The Jurors for our Lord the King upon thier Oath present that Agnes Harrington late of Saint Bartholomew Parish in the county of Chatham, widow on the first day of June in the thirteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third now King of Great Britain..."

This established the death of Charles Harrington (Sr.). King George III's reign began in 1760, thus the 13th year of his reign was in 1773. On 19 July in 1773, Agnes Harrington was charged with harboring 'loose characters', etc.

The State records of North Carolina by Walter Clark, Vol. XXII, page 492, showed an Inferior Court examined on 19 Dec 1775 in Beaufort County, North Carolina, Charles Harrington who had received a wound at the Battle of Almanance, "and find him to be an object of public bounty,"

This was Charles Harrington, Jr, who fought with his father at Almanance.
