Charles and Eva were living in Worcester, MA when Harold was born. In about 1900 they moved to Waterbury, CT, where they opened Davis and Nye Stationers. They lived at 184 Buckingham St. According to daughter-in-law Catharine, when Charles died, his son Harold and his wife Eva left Catharine in the car outside the hospital to wait, and never told her a thing about the cause of death or any circumstances surrounding it. Not until 1983 (50 years after his death and almost 30 years after her divorce) did she request a death certificate to satisfy her curiosity.
