Charles Bigelow, son of Hiram and his second wife Mary (Smith) Bigelow, was born at Buckingham township, Papineau, Quebec, on 17 July 1827 (as given at baptism, 1842). He married on 21 January 1853, Nancy Agnes Lonsdale the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Ogden) Lonsdale and his second wife. Nancy was born in Chatham township, Argenteual, Quebec on 10 January 1835. This family farmed in the vicinity of Glen Almond all their lives. He died on 13 January 1911 and Nancy on 03 January 1925. Both are buried at St. Stephen's, Buckingham, according to church records.
