Matthew Charles Bigelow, son of Charles and Nancy Agnes (Lonsdale) Bigelow, was born at Buckingham township, Papineau, Quebec, on 29 June 1868. He married 21 October 1896 Richardena Lonsdale. (Nickname "Dean") Richardena's parents were Archibald Lonsdale and Anne (Bigelow) Lonsdale. Matthew died 24 August 1939 in Glen Almond. 11 children.

The 1901 Canada Census has a the birth date listed as 08 JUN 1873.
