As told by Donald Beals: his father Charles W. Beals lived as a youngster with Lena (Helena) Voss and her husband Bill and always went by the Beals name.

Danial Beals was Charles W. Beals father. Daniel Beals lived in Maple Rapids and also died there.

Found at Montcalm County Court house, marriage book D, page 143: Charles William Beals married Myrtle Waldron in Stanton, Michigan on March 22, 1911.

They lived in Sheridan before their marriage. He worked on the railroad as a section man. They met when he rented a room from her.

No birth certificate was found for Charles W. Beals.

Questions we have:Was Grandma and Grandpa Voss, Lena & Bill Voss? When and where did they die? Did Charles Beals live with Daniel Beals at all? Who was Daniel Beals married to? Was Charles W. Beals born before or after Lena married Bill Voss? Could Lena's maiden name have been Welch?

On marriage license Charles W. Beals listed his mother as Mary Welch and his father as Danial Beals

AS TOLD BY AUNT KITTIE BOYD: Aunt Kittie said that Charles William Beals lived with his father Daniel Beals in Maple Rapids before he was married. When Daniel Beals died, Charles and Myrtie moved into the house that he had lived in. This is where their son Donald Lional Beals was born. They also had one daughter Mary who died when she was very little.
