A journeyman electrician, according to Mary Lou Lindsey Prothro, "The Lindseys of Red River Psh.," in Red River Psh. Heritage Soc., RED RIVER PARISH, OUR HERITAGE (Bossier City: Everett, 1989), p. 309. She notes that wife Robbie Jane Morgan taught for more than 25 years at the Martin high school, and was the daughter of Phillip Morgan, a Martin High teacher and principle, and husband of Laura Hunter. Obituary is in SHREVEPORT TIMES, 24 May 1995. This says that CDL was b. 25 Aug. 1926, Red River Psh., LA, and d. 20 May 1995 in Coushatta following a sudden illness. Funeral was at Liberty Baptist church, with burial in the church cemetery. CDL was survived by wife Johnnie B. and children Ricahrd of Coushatta and Janie Lindsey of Natchitoches, and siblings Mary Lou Prothro of Blanchard, LA, Onetha Bamburg of Natchitoches, Ledavon Bamburg of Shreveport, Billie Dove Ullrich of Bossier City, Aaron Lindsey of Shreveport, and Wilder Lindsey of Natchitoches. Grandchildren were Ronnie Wayne Tarver, Robbie Lindsey, Richard Michael Lindsey, and Grant Caston Lindsey. Half-siblings were Ravena McDonald, Betty Anderson, Carla Kuhn, and William Carroll Lindsey.
