DEATH: THE ANDERSON COUNTIAN, GARNETT, KANSAS THURSDAY APRIL 18, 1974 - PAGE SEVEN CECILE LOUISE BALL Cecil Louise Ball, daughter of Charles W. and Jessie May Knight, was born at Kimeo, Kan., March 19, 1910, and departed this life at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, on April 9, 1974, at the age of 64 years and 21 days. As a child she became a member of the church and attended Sunday School in the little Eureka schoolhouse northwest of Centerville. She has been an active member of the Centerville United Methodist Church since Feb. 4, 1934. She was united in marriage to Forrest Donovan Ball on June 9, 1928, at Iola. To this union was born one son, Donovan Carrol. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her father and mother; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Maybelle. She is survived by her husband, Donovan of the home; her son, Carrol and his wife, Barbara; five grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Knight, Blue Mound, and Clifford Knight, Caldwell; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Eyman, Deerfield, Kan., and Mrs. Helen Berry, Stasop, Wash.; a host of nieces and nephews. Cecile's life revolved around her home and church. She taught Sunday School 27 years. She was always one of the first to respond when anyone needed help and encouragement in a crisis. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at the United Methodist Church, Centervill. Rev. Jack Gregory and Reb. Narilyn Gregory officiated at the services. Piano selections were played by Mrs. Harry Quaintance, pianist. Vocal selections were sung by Mrs. Dwayne Broyles, Mrs L. M. Krull, with accompaniment by Mrs. Steven Paulseen. There were Eastern Star services held by the Parker Chapter, No. 307.OES. Interment was in the Centerville cemetery, with arrangements by Fairchild Funeral Home, Mound City, Kan. Casket bearers were: Roland Lewis, Harlan Zimmerman, Clyde Brownback, Willis Henderson, Bart Johnson and Lowell Hime. |
