    OBIT- The Orillia Packet & Times - Dec. 30, 1943-- Mrs. James Maloney- nee Catherine Moffatt, of Udney, died on Wednesday, December 22, after a short illness at the age of 83 years. She had lived in that community all her life and was well known and highly respected by all who knew her. She was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jeremiah Moffatt, of Udney. Left to mourn her loss are seven sons, Michael of Vancouver, who was not able to be present for the funeral, Tobias of Hamilton, William and Patrick of Toronto, Edward of Aurora, Peter and Jeremiah of Brechin and two daughters, Mrs. James Hamilton, (Julia) of Toronto, Mrs. Joseph Flannery, (Katie) of Orillia. Mr. Maloney predeceased her in 1900. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. M. MacDonald (sic McDonnell) (Maragret) of Toronto, and Miss Nora Moffatt, of Toronto, and two brothers Patrick and Jeremiah of Brechin, and 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Petre (Mary Ellen) predeceased her 29 years ago.
    The funeral service took place at St. Andrew's church, Brechin, where requiem high mass was sung by Father Nealon, of Uptergrove. The pallbearer were six sons of the deceased, Jeremiah, Patrick, Edward, Tobias, William and Peter.
