- ↑ Catherine's reported ages increased as she grew older. In the 1850 and 1860 Census records, those closest to her birth, her reported age suggests she was born about 1846. At the time of her marriage, when she reported her age as 16, she gained two year in age, then lost a year for the 1870 Census. In each Census after that, she gained at least one year. As a result, her reported birth years in the 1900 Census and in her cemetery record (which do not agree), should be considered with some caution.
