Catherine Goodman was baptised on 8th September 1782 at Willen in Buckinghamshire, daughter of Susannah Goodman, formerly Holmes, and her husband Henry Goodman, a labourer. Just four months after Catherine's baptism, her mother Susannah died.
In 1787 Catherine's father married Elizabeth Binks, who thus became Catherine's stepmother. Catherine had several half-siblings from her father's second marriage.
On 11th October 1808, Catherine married William Morris at Husborne Crawley in Bedfordshire, about seven miles south-east of Willen. Catherine's older sister Mary had moved to Husborne Crawley with her husband a couple of years earlier.
Catherine and William went on to have nine children together between 1809 and 1824, although at least two died young. The first four children were baptised at Husborne Crawley. Some time between 1814 and 1818 the family moved to Podington over twenty miles north of Husborne Crawley, where their younger five children were baptised.
Back in Willen, Catherine's father died in 1831.
The 1841 census finds Catherine, William and their son Joseph living in Podington. William was working as an agricultural labourer. Ten years later at Podington, Catherine and William had their sons Daniel and Joseph living with them as well as two girls who appear to be Joseph's daughters - it would seem Joseph's wife had recently died. William was described as a pauper at this time.
William died in 1855, aged 70. Catherine survived him by about two years. She died in 1857, aged 75.

1785 Burials: Jan[uary] 16 Catherine Goodman
Given the Catherine Goodman who married William Morris in 1808 at Husborne Crawley appears in the 1851 census giving her place of birth as Willen, it is presumed that this Catherine Goodman burial at Willen in 1785 must have been someone else - perhaps some other relative of Catherine's father.
