William Donald’s daughter Catherine (chr 14jan1765, Greenock, IGI) inherited Lyleston in 1852 when Mrs Donald (her sister in law?) died. Catherine/Catie Donald married John McAlister (13apr1762-26jan1832), 20jul1793 at Cardross (IGI), and had a son William McAllister (later McAllister-Donald) (30oct1797 Bonhill, Dunbartons. (IGI)-1880 Helensburgh). Glasgow Herald mentions between 1857 and 1880 William Macalister Donald of Lyleston, Auchincarroch, Dunbartonshire.. His widow Georgiana Moore, d. 7oct1896 at Hawthorn Bank, Helensburgh. A son was b. 11aug1854, when William was HM Consul at Ferrara. George Douglas Donald, a younger son, d. 22feb1857 at Venice. Web - William Macalister Donald (1797-1880), son of John McAlister and Catherine Donald, married Ann Paganie and Georgina Moore.
