Possible Parents

Looking at Schmidt's who were also members of the Lowell German Methodist Church, in case her parents came to Michigan with her. She was married in Michigan in 1863 at age 17, so it is probable that her parents moved to Michigan before or at that time, regardless of whether they were members of the same church.

    Thou art gone dearest Mother
    To that bright and better land,
    Where we'd all meet one another
    To walk, the golden strand,
    And though we sadly mourn for thee
    Thy place is vacant here.
    But soon we'd meet in Heaven to see
    And greet you mother dear;
