Facts and Events
The Mylius book states: "who from 1580 called himsef Mylius". Caspar probably studied theology in Wittenberg and passed his master's degree at the university there. From 1578 to 1598 he was vicar in Lichtentanne near Stenn. From October 1598 until his death he was vicar in Schönfels near Zwickau where later his son, son-in-law, grandchild and great-grandchild held the same position. By an extraordinary coincidence the office was held by members of the same family for over a hundred years. Around 1580 he signed the Concordium-formular as Caspar Mylius. On October 19th of 1607 he had to defend himself against accusations brought against him that he should have refued to give supper to a mortally ill person. At this point he was himself ill with St. Anthony's fire, had collapsed on the field and then had a fit that made him unable to hear, talk or see. His son, who was holding morning service at the same moment, was not able to come. References
