LEWIS DURGEE DIES AT AGE OF 75 Camden, July 5-- Mrs. Carolyn Durgee, 75, died this morning at the home of her son, Harry Durgee, 56 Railroad ST. She was born in Williamstown Sept. 30, 1869, a daughter of David and Susan Smart Buxton. She was married March 21, 1891 to Lewis Durgee, who died Aug. 4, 1914. She leaves one son, Harry Durgee, Camden; three grandsons, Cpl. Lyle Durgee, overseas; Roland, Fort Meade; and Zane at home; also a great-grandson, David Durgee, Camden. Funeral services will be held at... Saturday at the B.A. Sanborn & Son Funeral Home, and interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Rome Daily Sentinel, 12 July 1945: MRS. DURGEE'S FUNERAL Camden-- Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Buxton Durgee, widow of Louis Durgee, whose death occurred at the home of her son, Harry Durgee, Railroad ST, were conducted Saturday afternoon from the B.A. Sanborn and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Bertram A. Walton, pastor of the United Church, officiated. Those acting as bearers were Harry Fosdick, Homer Empey, Frank Lovejoy and William Kerifield.
