    C.K. ‘Pike' Bean
    OTTAWA—C. K. "Pike" Bean, 52, Ottawa, died Wednesday night at his home. Franklin County sheriff authorities said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
    He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Auburn, the son of Ernest and Anna Carrel Bean.
    He moved to Ottawa in 1966 from Overbrook. He worked as a machinist with Ottawa Steel. He was formerly employed at the Richland Elevator, Richland.
    He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Topeka, and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Richland.
    He married Mae S. Crow on March 21, 1965, in Topeka. She survives.
    A grandson, Jeffrey Scott Bean, preceded him in death.
    Survivors include a son, Michael A. Bean, Ottawa; two daughters, Kathy S. Premoux, Oklahoma City, and Karrel K. Woods, Fort Smith, Ark.; six step-daughters, Billie Eads, Wendy McAdoo, Joann Montague, Evelyn Crooks, Irene Gumm, and D'ann Johnson, all of Ottawa; three brothers, Jesse Bean, Ottawa; Art Bean, Lecompton; Roy Bean, Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Lois Moore, Overbrook; and 11 grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Overbrook. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery, Richland. Friends may call until Saturday morning at Damron-Towner Funeral Home, Ottawa.
