    Lois A. Moore, 94, of Overbrook, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her daughter’s residence.
    Lois was born September 18, 1922, in Auburn, KS., the daughter of Ernest Bean and Anna (Carrel) Bean. She was a lifelong resident of the Richland area and attended Richland Grade School and a 1940 graduate of Overbrook Rural High School. She then attended and graduated from Dodd’s Business College, Topeka, KS.
    She was a lifelong farm wife. She was also a secretary for the War Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II, a secretary for Santa Fe Railway and the Kansas Highway Department. For many years she was the office manager for Osage County Livestock Auction, and clerk for the Overbrook Livestock Commission Company.
    Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church, Overbrook; United Methodist Women, Overbrook; Pianist for Children’s Sunday School at the church; Pianist for the weekly Bible Study at Brookside Manor, Overbrook; Brownie Scout leader; Charter member of the Busy Bee Hobby Club; and the Richland Flower Club.
    Lois was a very active member of her family and community. She was always at a grandchild’s event to show them her support. She loved to share her gift for music with her piano when she was asked. She was a poet and loved writing her poems. She also played cards, enjoyed cheering on her Jayhawk basketball and Royals baseball teams, as well as crocheting, and working in the garden with her flowers. Traveling with her family was another favorite thing for her to do. To Lois her most treasured and precious gift was her family.
    On July 22, 1944, Lois was united in marriage with Clyde Moore in Topeka, KS. They shared over 47 years of marriage together until the death of Clyde on December 23, 1991.
    She is also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Roy Bean, Dale Bean, Jesse Bean, Art Bean, Carrell “Pike” Bean; and an infant sister, Esther Bean.
    Lois is survived by three children, Judy McMilllan and her husband, Dwayne, Berryton, KS., Tom Moore and his wife, Suzanne, Overbrook, KS., Cyndi Shively and her husband, Duane, Carbondale, KS.; seven grandchildren, Susan Williams, Tim Moore, Kelli Fund-Coffman, Amy Crotinger, Julie Smith, Daniel Shively, Charlie Shively; and fifteen great grandchildren.
    Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday October 30, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Overbrook, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday October 31, 2016 at the church.
