According to Ted Cash (and Ronna Lounsbery), she married Friedrich Battermann, Jr. in 1874 in Lake County, Indiana. (I see no church record, and he seems to marry someone named Sophia Wille this year.) Ronna (or Karen Rowe) also lists an 1868 confirmation, but does not say where.

She is listed as Sophia on the 1860 census, but apparently took the name Caroline (her mother's name) when her father remarried and there was another Sophia in the family.

Not sure if she was born in Germany or Indiana.
