Emma Schaumburg Wessels April 6, 1900-February. 16, 1980

Final Rites for Emma Wessels Being Held Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma C. Wessels, 79, of rural Watseka, were held today (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Crescent City, with Pastor Harold Heinzig officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wessels was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday night at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka. She was born April 6, 1900 in Ash Grove Township, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Rapp Schaumburg. She was married January 10, 1918 at Schwer to William H. Wessels. He died May 17, 1971.

Mrs. Wessels was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the church's Mary-Ruth circle.

She is survived by two sons, Randolph Wessels of Watseka and Harold of Arcadia, California; two daughters, Mrs. Carlton (Geneva) Bode of Fox River Grove and Mrs. Emil (Bernice) Gotsch of Oak Park; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Schaumburg of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Frank Schaumburg of Milford, and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Ferdinand of Danforth and Mrs. Almuth Mayhew of Mesa, Arizona
