From OBR: "Caroline Hortense Jackson...moved at the age of five years to Delaware, Ohio, then two years later moved to Kewanee, Illinois. In the spring of 1868 she moved with her parents to a farm near Bucklin, Missouri.

"In the spring of 1869 she went to live with an uncle, Mitchell Jackson, at Morrison, Illinois. She attended school there six years, graduating in the spring of 1875. From there she went to Kewanee, Illinois to teach a term of school and remained to teach another term the following winter. She left there the spring of 1876 for her father's home near Bucklin, Missouri. She taught a term of school at the Warner school that spring. She met James Early White the first week of her arrival and married him June 18, 1876.
