Taken from The Newton Evening Kansan-Republican, Newton, Kansas, Monday, October 19, 1908, p. 2 (typed as printed) Mrs. Caroline Seymour Dick, wife of Alexander C. Dick, died yesterday at noon at the home of her son Byron E. Dick. Mrs. Dick was born Oct. 10, 1820, she was married to Mr. Dick in Adams, New York, March 9, 1848 and went to Ohio to live and then in 1855 moved to Wisconsin and in 1871 to Warren, Ill. A year ago last June she and her husband came to Newton to make their home with their son, Bryon Dick (typed as printed). There were born to them, four children, one of whom died in infancy and another several years ago in Chicago. In early girlhood she united with the Presbyterian Church and on her removal to Wisconsin united with the Baptist church. Mrs. Dick leaves to mourn her, the aged husband, two sons, Byron E. and family of this city and Frank of Illinois. She had been ill for a long time and had been bedfast for more than a year, the immediate cause of her death being the fourth stroke of paralysis which she suffered last week. The funeral services were held this afternoon at the Dick home on East Fourth street at three o’clock and were conducted by the Rev. J. E. McClain. Interment was made in the Newton cemetery.
