Birth

Carolina Petronella Nassette was born on 25 January 1849 in Amsterdam. Her religion was Dutch Reformed. Her birth certificate can be found on Familysearch [1], once again thanking the enormous work the people of the Church of latter days saints have done. She was born at the Lindenstraat 86 at 8 p.m. on 25 January 1849. Her parents were Joannes Bernardus Nassette and Maria Alida Deijlius. In the sideline of the certificate it is noted that she was recognized as being a legal child by marriage between her parents on 7 March 1852, more than 3 years after her birth.

Moving with family

We can find a registration in Rotterdam [2] where it is noted that Carolina Petronella Nassette was a seamstress and on 16 October 1867 her daughter died at 5 a.m. in their house at Lombardstraat 8-205 being 2 months of age. There is no father mentioned. In her birth registration [3] we can see that she was born on 3 August 1867 at 7 p.m. In that time she lived together with her mother in Rotterdam [4], where in the census records we find her living in the Lombardstraat 21 in Rotterdam. In that time we can see that she moved between Amsterdam and Rotterdam [5].

We find another remarkable registration when she was admitted to the hospital in Amsterdam [6]. She was admitted on 17 January 1871 and her occupation was registered as a custom house servant at which time she lived at the Suikerbakkersteeg 534 in Amsterdam. After 49 days of nursing she left the hospital on 4 March 1871.

Marriages

We know that she married Franciscus Anthonius Marinus Zorge on 17 June 1874 [7]. They had no children. After the death of Franciscus Anthonius Marinus Zorge on October 1888 she married again.

On 6 February 1890 she married again with Gerardus Johannes Sluijter in Amsterdam [8], a 44 year old machinist who is also a widower from his marriage with Johanna Maria Francisca Zorge. She was the sister of Franciscus Anthonius Marinus Zorge which means that the surviving spouses of the marriages with the two Zorge children later married.
