The King Christian is on Carl's mothers side of the house. How we found out all about this was during World War I as Carl's father was not a citizen of America. He had never taken out his citizenship papers so Carl was a subject of Denmark. We had to have the government in Washington, D.C. send a tracier back to Copenhagen, Denmark to get his birth records etc. His home was in Copenhagen in a Lay-in-hospital, both he and Ann. It took three years before he could get his U>S>A>papers. That's how and where we found out when, where, and how he was born and who his relations as he was the only male heir on his mother's side of the house. He inherited her two unmarried sisters property which we or he never claimed because we would have to go back to Denmark and live for two years before claiming the estate. Carl said he would not go back so he sent all his claim papers back for their government to do with as the wished etc. Carl said he does not know any of these people you have mentioned, or about the records in Copenhagen his names is Carl John Peter Rasmussen. There is a long story to the whole affair, not worth mentioning or going into as I see things . Let sleeping dogs lie as they are, and we do have all his records in our safety deposit box in our bank for safe keeping.

All responses from Denmark on possible relation to the King turned up negative results. Mar 10, 1965 Amalienborg, Copenhagen H. M. Kongens Kabenetssekretariat

Dear Madam, In reply to your letter of Feb. 22, to hes Majesty the King I may tell you that no information can be found here about your Great-Great-Grandmother, but that it seems most inprobable that she should be a daughter of King Christian IX

June 6, 1968 Dear Madam, With reference to your letter of may 24, I may inform you that your pedigree cannot be traced through my office, but that it is most unlikely that Morten Christensen should be a son of King Christian IX.

Yours Faithfully
Private Secretary to
His Majesty the King
