Company C, 38th Battalion Virginia Heavy Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A. Residence Richmond VA. Enlisted on 5/11/1861 at Richmond, VA., he was mustered into Captain E.J. Anderson's Company, Thomas Virginia Light Artillery as a Private. This Company became Company C, 38th Battalion Virginia Heavy Artillery 10/1862. Paid $50 Enlistment Bounty (date not listed); no further record. The Thomas Light Artillery was organized in May, 1861, at Richmond, Virginia. It served in the Potomac District and in June, 1862, totalled 70 men. The battery was active from the Seven Days' Battles to Sharpsburg, then in October disbanded. Its members were then transferred to the Hampden Light Artillery, which was Company C, 38th Artillery Battalion.Bio by: Big French
