At the early age of 8 years she emigrated with her parents to Ontario, Canada, where at the age of 19 she was united in marriage to Andrew Priel, long since deceased. To this union twelve children were born: Patrick, James and William. Margaret and Mrs T.J. Cooney of Overton. Mrs. Jas D. Gynn of Portland OR; Andrew W. Priel of Corvallis OR; J.H. Priel of Chico CA; Mrs Ben Squires of Seattle WA; John Priel and Mrs Ellen Welch having preceeded her in death.

In 1888 Mrs. Priel, with her husband and children, came to the United States and settled near Overton NE, where the present home is situated and here she resided up to the time of her demise. Funeral services were held at Holy Rosary Church in Overton.
