On this 30th day of April A.D. 1851 before me W. Ramsay a Notary Public in and for the
County and State aforesaid personally appeared Jesse Robinson who being duly sworn according
to law declares – That he is the Administrator of the estate of John Robinson deceased late of Shelby County and State of Kentucky and formally a soldier in the War of the Revolution under General Washington, Virginia Continental Line, That he was raised in Rockingham County Virginia, from which place he went into the service. That his said father died in Shelby County Kentucky (John Robinson deceased aforesaid) – on or about the 1st day of June A.D. 1833 at the age of 77 years – That he was married to his mother Biddy Robinson in Fayette County Kentucky in or about the year of our Lord 1784, at the age of 28 years – That his Mother's name before her said marriage was Biddy Custer. His father and mother were both born in the same year 1756 – that his said mother Biddy Robinson died in Shelby County aforesaid on or about the middle of October A.D. 1815. He also swears that he has often heard his father John Robinson aforesaid speak of his services in the War – and remembers to have heard him say that he served two separate tours but does not remember the length of service, thinks he was drafted both times, = He remembers also to have heard him say that his term of service expired on the same day that Lord Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington [October 19, 1781]. He also states that he has no documentary Evidence in support of his claim. He also remembers to have heard his Father say that he was entitled to a Pension from the Government of the United States on account of his Military services in the War of the Revolution.
