Bio: Bobby "Joe" StanleyGaston - Bobby "Joe" Stanley, 56, of Gaston, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home.Joe was born July 27, 1962 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Tom and Edna Stanley. Joe grew up in Rushville and attended Rushville High School. Joe worked in asphalt paving, retiring this year. He loved going to the Anderson Speedway and Muncie Dragway with family and friends. Joe was loved by all in the community and will be dearly missed and never forgotten.Joe leaves behind two sons, Brian Stanley of Gaston and Keith Stanley of New Castle; a daughter, Barbara "BJ" Goble of Indianapolis; four brothers, George Stanley (wife Julie) of Gaston, Ted Stanley (wife Vickie) of Muncie, Mont Stanley of Muncie, and Tom Stanley of Gaston; a sister, Betsy Stanley of Gaston; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Joe was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bob Stanley, Claude Johnson, and Eddie Pennington; and a sister, Jessie Hankins.A funeral service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery. A meal will be provided by the ladies of the American Legion Axially to family and friends at the Gaston Lions Club immediately following. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 26, 2018 and also one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.Memorial contributions may be given to aid in final expenses in care of George Stanley. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home or can be mailed to Gant Funeral Homes, 2215 S.
