Bob was never married.

Bob's obituary reads, "ROBERT J. ORT, 81, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Heritage Park Health Care Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he retired as a school teacher from Central Catholic and Huntington North High Schools. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception. He was also a U. S. Army World War II veteran, and he volunteered at McDougal Chapel and the Embassy Theater. He was an accomplished, self-taught musician. Survivors include his sister, Marilyn (Philip) Dwire of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Sharon Ort of Cheshire, Conn.; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Calhoun St., with calling one hour prior. Fr. Robert C. Schulte officiating. Calling also from 5 to 9 p.m. today at D. O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Masses or Embassy Foundation."
