    Burlington, NC Beulah Elizabeth Payne Payne, age 89, formerly of Kilby Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Alamance Health Care. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Tempa “Tempie” Jane Sharpe Payne.

    Beulah retired from Culp Weaving in Graham and was of the Methodist Faith. Beulah enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.

    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Payne and his wife, Jean of Graham; grandson, Linwood Payne and his wife, Sandra of Graham; great granddaughter, Courtney Payne of Graham; great grandson, Brent Payne of Graham; sister, Dellie Thompson of Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Wilson Payne; son, Lynnwood Payne; parents; sisters, Lou Ella Payne Thompson and Zelma Payne Holt Baker; brothers, Ted, Dave, George, Clem, B.A., Taft and McKinnley Payne.

    The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Norman Whitney. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Graham. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and other times the family will be at the home of the son, 2272 Redwood Trail, Graham, NC 27253.

    The family would like to say a special word of thanks to the staff and nurses of Alamance Health Care and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the compassionate care given to Beulah over the past several months. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
