1880 census gives Bertha's age as 3, resulting in a birthyear of circa 1877. 1894 census she is 13, indicating natal year of about 1881...quite a discrepancy.

If Bertha was born circa 1878, as indicated by 1894 census...whose daughter was she. Alexander WHITE is supposed to have died in 1876 and Susan didn't marry Martin PORTER until 1878. Bertha may have been born out of wedlock or Alexander's deathdate may be incorrect or perhaps she was even Martin's daughter by a previous wife...but then her name wouldn't have been WHITE.  ??
