Bernell F. Kliefoth, 81, of Monona, IA, died Sunday morning, October 20, 2002, at Mercy Health Center in Dubuque, following a brief illness. He was born February 3, 1921, near Luana, IA, to Edwin and Milda (Kricke) Kliefoth. He graduated from Luana High School in 1939.

Bernell was a US Air Force veteran, serving during WWII. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Holly on January 9, 1948, at the Methodist Church in Monona. Three children were born to this union. He worked for Schultz's Furniture Store and funeral home in Monona for many years until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie, Monona; his children, Janice (Doug) Bachman, Monona, and Lanny (Jeanine) Kliefoth, Waucoma; five grandchildren, Mike (Rhonda) Bachman, Monona, Chet (Rachel) Bachman, Monona, Alyssa, Erin and Zachary Kliefoth, all of Waucoma; three great-grandchildren, Casey, Cody and Kelby Bachman and a sister, Jeanette Eglseder, Garnavillo.

His parents, a daughter, Joni Egan, and three brothers-in-law, Allen Eglseder, Art Voss and James Holly, preceded him in death.
