   Benoni Newby was a native of Randolph Co., NC. In 1823 he married by bond, in Randolph Co., NC, Jane Williams, daughter of Richard & Susanna (Clary) Williams. They had four children, Susana, William, Daniel, and Albert before Jane's death in 1838. Six months after Jane's death, Benoni married in Wayne County, IN, Catherine Cottingham.
