He was a Quaker and at one time "Over-Seer" in the Friends' Meetings. he served until 1715 as a private in Captain John Moore's 3d Company of Colonel Thomas Fearmars' Regiment of the New Jersey Militia. Land bought of John Ayers, Jun'r, and James Smith, June 11, 1722, and Feb. 21, 1729; land bought of Moses Rolph Nov. 19, 1711; land bought of Samuel Lewis and John Loofborrow; bonds from Edward Freeman and Edward Harned; cows in the care of Nathan'll Harned and Moses Freeman.
