Film 1999 Pt 1, Deeds to Land and Property, Connecticut, 1686-1727, Vol1, p 263: "Benjamin Sawyer, blacksmith of Pomfret, Connecticut, for 119 pounds paid by Isaac Hides, sold 50 acres of land (which I hold by deed of gifts from my honored father, James Sawyer). The document is signedby Benjamin Sawyer and Mary Sawyer, his wife, in the presence of Rebeckah Elmar and Sam Dana. Dated Jan 1727. (Sam Dana is a Winchester cousin via his dau Mary Sayer). Note: Rebeckah Elmar's relationship to Benjamin's wife Mary Elmar. !Film 1999 Pt 4, Deeds to Land and Property, Connecticut, 1686-1727, Vol6, p 100: "Know all men by these presents that we, Simon Carpenter and Sarah, his wife, both of Pomfret, for 20 pounds for the consideration of the funeral charges and debts owing from the estate of Mrs. Mary Sawyer,late of Pomfret, to John Jeffords and Hannah, his wife, both of Pomfret -- - in and unto the estate of our Honored father, Mr. Benjamin Sawyer,late of Pomfret, deceased, that was let out to said Mary in right of dower to her and that she died etc. Dated this 18 April 1774.
