The Daily Times-News on Saturday, June 03, 1972 Bennie Rich HAW RIVER Bennie Rich 53, of Rt. 1, Haw River, was dead on arrival at a Burlington hospital Friday afternoon at o'clock following three years of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was a son of the late Wesley Graves and Mamie Keck Rich and the husband of Mrs.. Grace Trollinger Rich of the home. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member and deacon of Haw River United Church of Christ and a foreman in the finishing department of Copland Fabrics. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Linwood Rich of the home; two daughters, Mrs.. Phyllis Jarrett of Rt. 1, Haw River, and Mrs.. Ann Lassiter of Grinnell, Iowa; two brothers, Roy Rich of Rt. 1, Haw River, and Coy Rich of Rt. 6, Burlington; two sisters, Mrs.. Alzora ISLEY of Burlington and Mrs.. Mattie Cates of Rt. 6, Burlington; and five grandchildren. Final rites will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Haw River United Church of Christ. The Rev. James L. Rosser, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina. The body will remain at McClure Funeral Home in Graham until taken to the church to lie in state one hour before the' service. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
