1831 - born May 6 to William B. and Mary Nicholson Queen.

1844 - a Benjamin N. Queen received a land grant for 100 acres in Macon Co. NC on 1 March 1844. On the same day a Dicy Queen and a Hannah Queen ALSO received a grant for 100 acres.[30]

1855 - married Mary Catherine Carson.

1856 - Jackson Co., NC bastardy bonds, June 1856 - Martha Hooper vs. B.N. Queen (defendant confesses).[31]

2nd Lieutenant in Confederate Army defended Cumberland Gap with the 62nd regiment of NC, according to Chris Queen memo, Chris is a grandson of Benjamin. Listed as amember of the 62nd North Carolina Infantry. The 62nd was formed ion July , 1862, and was assigned to Generaal Gracie's command at Cumberland Gap in July 1863. Many of the 62nd wee captured there in September of 1863, but a number escaped capture and reformed at Ashville NC. records show that 443 men of the 62nd were prisoners at Camp Douglass, Chicago, Ill. The unit was later disbanded.
