" This community was greatly affected by the news of the dangerous illness of B.F. Page, the well known undertaker and furniture dealer, which was reported last Saturday a week when he had been seized with serious bowel trouble. Besides his home physicians, Drs. J. T. Rimer and F .P .Phillips, Dr. Swope, of Pittsburgh, was summoned and came up to Clarion last Friday. It was understood then that the patient had a good chance for recovery providing there was no breaking down of other organs. Ultimately the heart became involved and could not withstand the tremendous strain put upon it. When it failed all was lost, and he passed through the gates to the life beyond Tuesday, August 10, 1915, at 5:15 p.m. Benjamin Franklin Page was the son of A.K. and Abigail Delo Page, two of the early settlers of Clarion, and was born in this place Oct. 3, 1855, where he has lived practically all his life. His father being a furniture maker and dealer and undertaker, Benjamin learned and followed the business applying himself thereto with all of his faculties, and finally when his father died succeeded to the business, showing a remarkable adaptability therefore and being progressive and energetic in carrying on the business, gaining a prominent place in the business of the town and vicinity. He was united in marriage August 14, 1877, with Miss Carrie Fleming, daughter of Mr. Paul Fleming, of near Corsica, the ceremony being celebrated at Knox. Mrs. Page and the following children survive: Mrs. Ora Cyphert, Mrs. Ruby M. Wensel, Paul A. and Benj. F. Page, Jr. ., of Clarion; and Mrs. Mary B. Hood, Great Falls, Mont. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Wm. E. and Geo. B. Page, of Clarion, and Mrs. Banks Rowley, Chester, W. Va.; and Mrs. M.E. Longnaker, Wilkinsburg. One daughter, Abigail Violet, was drowned in the Clarion river several years ago. Mr. Page was a member of the Baptist Church for many years. He also was a Knight of the Maccabees. The funeral services will be held at his late home Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, his pastor, Rev. Walter E. Reynolds, having charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Clarion cemetery .The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family and friends."
