    Death of Arthur Meade

Former Sycamore Boy, Son of Well Known Horseman, Passed Away On Monday After Long Illness At His Home In Belvidere

Arthur Meade, who passed most of the years of his youth in Sycamore, where he was well known, died at his home, 1609 Pearl street, Belvidere, on Monday evening, after a long illness. The funeral services were held at the home on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. H. E. Rompel officiating, and the interment was in Belvidere cemetery.

    The Belvidere Republican says:
There survive his wife, one son, Dwight of Chicago; his father, Benjamin Meade and two brothers, Frank of Belvidere, and Edward of Genoa.

The deceased was born in Belvidere January 24, 1847. His home for a number of years had been in Elgin, Ill., and Kalamazoo, Mich., but he returned to Belvidere about four years ago and has since resided here.

Mr. Meade was highly esteemed in the community and was of a genial and kindly temperment. His many friends will much deplore his demise and extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

The father, Benjamin Meade, was a pioneer of this section, living here when the old stage coaches were the means of travel through this section. He is now living at a remarkable age, having reached 95 years, and is active and comparatively well, being able to drive horses and get about the city.
