Benjamin Davis was baptised on 14th November 1779 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of Susannah Davis, formerly Outridge, and her husband William Davis. The family lived at Limbury, then a rural hamlet to the north of the town itself. Benjamin has yet to be traced after his baptism.
