Benjamin Crane Cory, son of Mulford and Mariah (Conkling) Cory and his twin brother, Joseph were graduates of Princeton college where they studied theology. They were licensed to preach the gospel in 1834 and were ordained at the same session of the Presbytery in April, 1835. Benjamin married Mary M. Crane, daughter of Job Crane of Elizabeth Town, New Jersey.
